Prepare & Position

Check the cover for the markings "F" (Front) and "B" (Back). "F" must face you when placed on the steering wheel.
Spoke Fixation & Adhesive Tape

Carefully push the leather into the gaps at the spokes (hems). The use of double-sided adhesive tape is optional. However, we recommend using the tape in areas where the leather does not fit perfectly to ensure a perfect fit.
Hand Stitching

Thread the needle (approx. 4 times the length of the seam) and sew the cover evenly, using the existing stitches.

Please DO NOT remove the original leather cover! Mewant covers are designed to be sewn directly over the existing leather.

Example: If your steering wheel is heavily worn, flatten the areas (as shown in the picture) before applying the new cover.

Safety: Due to the airbag, professional removal and installation of the steering wheel should only be carried out by an authorized workshop.

Heat helps: A warm leather cover is more flexible and easier to pull over the edges.
Cleanliness: Ensure your hands are absolutely clean during installation, especially with Alcantara.
Patience: Plan for approx. 90 minutes. A precise start ensures a wrinkle-free end result.

Do I have to remove the original leather?

No. The cover is precisely sized to fit over the original leather. Without it, the cover would be too loose.

When should I use the adhesive tape?

The adhesive tape is particularly useful at the spoke transitions or in areas where the leather slightly lifts during alignment.
