This was definitely not an easy task to install. I am fairly handy and meticulous, so that combination helped greatly. It took me 3 hrs to complete, but that was because the string was so long, when doing the top of steering wheel, that it knotted up at one point and I had to take some time getting the knot out. The string will want to twist and knot up but be patient and always keep the slack pulled out when pulled the string through a stitch.

The only issue I saw with the product was on the long run at the top of the steering wheel the manufacturer used large stitches on one side of the leather and smaller stitches on the other side. The two smaller sections had same size stitching. To work around this, on one side to keep from getting to far ahead I would send the string through one larger stitch twice when I was sewing so I could catch the smaller stitch side up to the larger stitch side. Overall I love the design and class that the steering wheel cover adds. Plus it feels soft and durable when gripping.

The final result looks fantastic, but it takes a lot of time and effort to install. I have a few important notes. Be very careful when using the double-sided tape — the manual suggests applying it to the cover, but it doesn’t stick well and tends to bunch up during installation, leaving visible marks on the steering wheel. I had to undo the stitching to remove the tape and redo the work. In the end, I applied the tape directly to the steering wheel, only on the back side where it’s not visible.

Also, the number of stitching steps isn’t the same on both sides. If you start from the corners and are a perfectionist, the main longitudinal seam will end up crooked. I had to redo it by starting from that seam and then moving toward the corners — that way, I had about two stitches left over at the back. Don’t pull the thread too hard, and make sure the leather edges align perfectly without overlapping. The result is soft and comfortable to the touch.

The only time I leave reviews is if the products sucks beyond belief or is amazing. This steering wheel cover is AMAZING! Super easy to install and looks great. You would think it came from the factory with this cover. Highly recommend.

Hand stitching took a out and hour but end result looks oem. Really great fit and product.

BE PREPARED! This is not for the faint of heart, but the result is soooo worth it! I am extremely handy/mechanically inclined and this took me a good 2.5 hours to do. It's finicky, tedious work that can be quite frustrating, but TOTALLY WORTH IT. End result is fabulous. FYI, I did NOT use the sticky tape, only because if I ever want to remove it, I don't want my steering wheel to be a tacky mess. Did not need it. Just remember to turn the wheel to always have the easiest access to the part you are sewing on. Doesn't provide great instructions on how to start the sewing, or how to keep the thread on the needle, just check the web or ask someone who sews! Trial and error and several joints in the thread as I went got me to the end and I LOVE THE FINAL LOOK AND FEEL.
